A video puts a face to a name and allows an audience to see the genuine nature of your business and offering. People like buying from people. If they have confidence in you that hugely increases their likelihood to buy from you.
2. Social Media Videos Get Shares
Video is the most shared piece of content on social media. In fact, 92% of users watching video on mobile will share it with others. (Wordstream) Not to mention, customers are spending so much time on social media watching videos, Facebook has over 8 billion video views per day. (TechCrunch). And let’s be honest, as business people, even we spend a lot of time on social media.
3. Online VIdeo is Where Audiences Are At
Traditional forms of marketing and branding are old-school. Print, Television Commercials, and direct mail advertising is just not how people are going to know about your business, not to mention they are very expensive. In fact, 6 out of 10 people would rather watch online videos than television. (Google) Right now, video content has a vast and fast-growing audience, and it’s only going to grow more. We’ve all been there. You read an article on how to cook the best homemade pizza, but they have lost you on how to ferment your dough. So you click on a YouTube video instead. (Show Adam Ragousa video) This one is my favorite.
Studies show that viewers retain 95% of a video’s message compared to 10% when reading text. (Insivia) Also, according to Hubspot, 80% of customers remember a video they viewed in the past month. On top of all of that, visual imagery relays so much more information is a short amount of time!
5. Videos Help Increase Buying Intent
Videos do a great job of pushing customers closer and closer to purchase. A positive experience from a customer with a video ad can increase purchase intent by 97%. (Zurb) Also, 64% of customers are more likely to buy a product online after watching a video about it. (Forbes) And we have all been there! When you get an ad on youtube or Instagram for something you’ve been wanting and you see a video of it, you are so much more likely to want that product as opposed to just pictures.
So in conclusion, video helps create trust with customers, helps create a larger reach, connects with the growing audience of online video viewers, helps customers retain information about your product or service, and helps increase buying intent.
